National Apprenticeship Week: Making an impact on and off-site! Charlie Jones’ story is a brilliant example of the difference apprentices make on @Kier Construction’s Ysgol Cynefin project - not just through innovation on site, but through community engagement too.

Alongside his role as a Trainee Apprentice Site Manager, Charlie has helped coordinate bi-monthly donations to FareShare Fairwater, supporting families in the local community and strengthening long-term relationships beyond the site.

Across Ysgol Cynefin, apprentices have contributed more than 363 apprentice weeks through the supply chain, spanning roles from carpentry and engineering to floor fitting and security. Their enthusiasm, fresh perspectives and commitment to learning continue to play a vital role in the project’s success.
